The character that I have chosen and relates to me the most is Beatrice. Beatrice is the niece of Leonato, a wealthy governor of Messina. Though she is close friends with her cousin Hero, Leonato’s daughter, the two could not be less alike. Beatrice is feisty, cynical, witty, and sharp and is famously known to be the play's witty heroine. She is mainly noted for her firm opposition to marriage, confessing to the fact that she will never get married. She is also famous for her verbal dueling with Benedick, as seen in the film; they almost bite each other’s tongue off so much that it is almost impossible to get any worse. Overall, Beatrice is a prime example of one of Shakespeare’s strong female characters.Don’t know what to say for the quotes... =(
Beatrice interacts the most with Benedick within the play. They are both main characters of the play. As clearly seen, from the first day they met, they had already started bickering about each other. This shows how much talking they did to each other. Eventually, as classical as any other stories, poems, movies and plays could get --- Haters usually turn to become lovers like Beatrice and Benedick was like. They only started to develop their love and affectionate for each other after Don Pedro’s plan of sending Ursula, Hero, Claudio, Leonato and himself to trick both of the B’s thinking that they both actually love each other, except they don’t admit it at all due to their scornfulness. Their love for each other strengthened from the event of Hero losing her innocence, because Beatrice and Benedick strongly believed that Hero would definitely have not done such a disgusting thing. This lead to both Beatrice and Benedick to be determined to find the real truth and along the journey they both fell in true love with each other.
Beatrice is definitely the character that relates to me the most. Firstly, I oppose extremely to marriage and me myself would never ever think about getting married or ev
en want to get married, unless I find the world’s most perfect man. (Which will never ever happen...) Also, Beatrice is such a witty, funny and also scornful person which fully describes me. Some people may not see me this way because I don’t act like that in front of them, but most people that know me very well would know the huge relation I have with Beatrice’s personality. I do not like admitting to some kinds of embarrassing that stuff that I have previously not wanted to do / have. (E.g. Like Beatrice not wanting to admit that she loves Benedick until the very end of the play.) Also, if something really nasty happens, my mind never stops and thinks carefully, all that happens in my brain is: Kill this and that stupid person! They did this to ME, HER OR WHOEVER...!!! So as an overall, I relate to Beatrice the most, kind of like a “unladylike, strong women.”Much Ado About Nothing Activity Blog Task

A Wide Reading Novel I Have Been Reading Lately
It's a very heart-wrenching story of a girl called Lakshmi, from Nepal, who is sold into prositution at the age of 3, and kept captive in a place called the 'Happiness House', where she not only survives, against all odds, but is actually triumph and happy. Lakshmi was sold due to the poor-ness of her family and she didn't know that until she arrived at the "Happiness House" for a while. This was because her father lied to her about the truth... It is very sad how such a young girl who only JUST experienced her 1st period and already gets sold off into nightmare. Slowly, she does make more and more friends in the 'Happiness House' until a day she actually finds her own courage to face the world and fight for her own life and reclaim her own life.
It's a wonderful, eloquent and kind of a "shocking" story to read, but it is nice and simple to read (especially to such a lazy reader like me)... It is a very lovely story and therefore I rate it [About 9 out of 10] >_<
Future readers, enjoy it... Relax
Protest Poetry
The Bells of Heaven
'Twould ring the bells of heaven,
The wildest peal for years,
If Parson lost his senses
And people came to theirs.
And he and they together
Knelt down with angry prayers
For tamed and shabby tigers,
And dancing dogs and bears,
And wretched, blind pit ponies,
And little hunted hares.
As, I had said before in a few posts before, my poem for my Protest Poetry in my oral assignment was very short! =]
Goals for Next Term (Term 4) ^-^
Firstly, I want to be able to always get the habit of "planning" and not just that, but also to be able to plan well. This can help me to structure all my essays, writings and everything a lot better. This applies to almost all subjects, especially English and History. Planning has been a great problem for me and so I must (hopefully) fix it so I can learn how to structure any kind of piece of writing well!
Secondly, I really want to improve my grammatical tense errors even though I have no idea how to. It seems that every teacher has been telling me that there's something wrong with my grammatical tense since when I was in Yr 5 and up. I will maybe try to read out my "piece of writing" and listen to whats wrong with it. To be honest, I'm already doing that, but it doesn't really work. Big struggle for me!
Thirdly, I also have huge problems with verbal tense, which of course I must try to improve. It seems, some of my sentences are very weird and not understandable. I will try and fix it. Again, I think I would have to read out aloud my work. =]
Fourthly, I want to improve reading lots and lots more. I read about once a month, not including the ones we read for 5 mins at the beginning of each English Class. I am trying to find time to do that, it is very hard. I know, I just need to read about 10 mins every night, but 10 mins is really really really hard for me to find... I will try and maybe reduce some co-curriculars if possible and attempt to read more. Reading is a good habit as pretty much everyone says! =]
Fifthly, I want to improve my concentrations I put towards in class. I get distracted extremely easily. I will try my best to stay focused on task and understand as much as I can on what has to be done in class. I need to try and do my work with a 100% focus, so I can do well.
Lastly, I really really really want to make an immense huge improvement with my mark for English. I am wishing, dreaming, begging, pleading so much in my mind, brain and heart to get an A for my overall mark for English at the end of the year. This will be very hard for me, because this year my English hasn't been going well for me, and most of my marks have been ranging within the B sections which is quite sad. =(
Anyways, I shall do as much as I can to get an A for English. I will put my best effort and every last strength towards achieving this goal.
Overall, I must stay organised and have good time management (which I am horrible at). I must not be a procrastinater!
Evaluation of Protest Poetry Unit in Term 3
What I learnt through studying the unit in terms of poetic techniques was that poetic techniques actually do help and bring a different mood, expression, feeling, movement, action and so on to do the poem / song. I also learnt that there were a lot and a lot of poetic techniques that exist, but it happens so that most poems / songs use only a few techniques. I can see that repetition and rhyming are the most popular. Something else I learnt was that poets express their point of view through their compostition by of course as I said before, using "poetic techniques." But it's not only that, they may also do it by inserting and putting beautiful words or lyrics in the poem or maybe an extraodinarily different kind of structured poem or something that's totally differnet from what a normal poem should be like. That would surprise the reader of the poem... =]
I enjoyed analysing my own poem that I did for my oral assignment in Term 3. It was called "The Bells of Heaven". This was because the poem was extremely meaningful and powerful. Also, I enjoyed it because in when we were still working on this assignment, I was the only student in the class to choose doing a topic on "Animal Cruelty", whereas everyone did things mainly about the war, which I find would be boring. So, I decided to lighten my oral up by doing a different topic to everyone else. Also, I enjoyed analysing this poem, because it's actually quite fun to read it and it is an EXTREMELY SHORT piece of poetry. Almost everyone else in the class did a poetry more than 15 ~ 20 lines, whereas mine was exactly 10 lines. So, it was a lot quicker and easier for me to analyse, therefore I enjoyed it. =] (Good lucky shortcut!)
I would rate this unit in terms of learnt experienes and texts that I enjoyed overall [7.5 out of 10]... Well if I rate it out of five: [About 3.75 out of 5]... I must agree it was a great unit, but poetry isn't for me. I don't really like poetry, but I liked because I already about 95% of the poetry techniques that Mrs Pignier taught the class. It is a pretty good term, it felt like we sped through learning everything. Although, to honestly speak, the learning experiences were quite boring and the songs and poetry we analysed for a start and basic understand for Protest Poetry were quite dragging on and confusing (to me)... Otherwise, everything else was pretty good in English in Term 3. I will be hoping Term 4 turning out great!
